Probiotic supplementation during pregnancy found to reduce the risk of eczema in children

In the latest study investigating the potential of probiotic supplementation to reduce the prevelance of allergic disease 112 pregnant women with a family history of allergic diseases received either a mixture of Bifidobacterium bifidum, B. lactis, and Lactobacillus acidophilus, or placebo, starting at 4-8 wks before delivery and continuing until 6 months after delivery.

Nutrient depletion linked to pregnancy related depression
